Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 30 July 2026

Part of the Terms of Service. Nothing here reduces your statutory rights.

In plain English: Cancel online anytime — you keep access until the end of what you paid for. New subscriptions come with a 14-day money-back guarantee, no reason needed. Renewals aren't refunded, which is how we keep prices this low. After you subscribe, renewals are charged automatically to your payment method on file until you cancel — so cancel before the renewal date if you do not want the next charge. The free trial never takes a payment.

1. Cancelling

1.1 Cancel any subscription online, in Settings → Billing, at any time. No phone calls, no retention specialists, no hoops.

1.2 Cancelling stops future billing; it does not shorten the period you have paid for. You keep full access until the end of the current period, then your account moves to limited access (Terms §8). Example: you subscribe on the 5th and cancel on the 10th — you keep access until the 4th of the following month, and you are not charged again. The same applies to annual subscriptions: access runs to the end of the paid year.

1.3 There are no cancellation fees, and cancelling never deletes your data.

1.4 Before you confirm, we show you exactly what happens — what access ends, when, that future renewals of what you cancel will stop, and that membership will not start on your behalf.

1.5 The free trial requires no payment method and never results in a charge, so there is nothing to cancel. If you do not choose a plan, your account simply moves to limited access.

2. Refunds

2.1 Renewals are not refunded. Once a monthly or annual period has begun, that payment is not refundable — you keep the access you paid for until the period ends. This is part of how we keep prices as low as they are.

2.2 New subscriptions: 14-day money-back guarantee. When you first subscribe to the membership, or to any paid plugin for the first time, you have 14 days to change your mind and receive a full refund of that first payment — no reason needed, no proportional deduction, whether or not you have used the Service. This applies to annual subscriptions too.

2.3 This reflects and exceeds your statutory right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, which we cannot and do not exclude. Where the law gives you more, the law wins.

2.4 The 14-day guarantee applies to a first subscription to a given product — not to renewals of a subscription you have held longer than 14 days.

2.5 If you re-subscribe to something you previously held and refunded, we may apply the strict statutory position rather than this fuller guarantee.

3. Renewals and reminders

3.1 Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period — monthly or annually, as you chose — until cancelled. The amount and date are always shown in Settings → Billing and on every receipt.

3.2 We send a reminder before your free trial ends. Because no card is held and nothing converts automatically, this tells you your access is about to become limited — not that a payment is due.

3.3 We send renewal reminders for active paid subscriptions where the law requires, and generally anyway.

3.4 If you meant to cancel before a renewal and missed it narrowly, contact hello@buckstrail.com within 7 days of the charge. If you have not materially used the Service since, we will refund it as a matter of goodwill. This is our policy rather than a legal obligation, and repeated claims may mean we apply the strict position instead.

4. If something is faulty (Consumer Rights Act 2015)

4.1 Digital content and services must be as described, fit for purpose, and supplied with reasonable care and skill. If something we supply is faulty you are entitled to have it put right — repair, re-performance, or an appropriate price reduction or refund where we cannot fix it.

4.2 If a paid plugin is materially unavailable or broken for a sustained period, tell us. We will fix it and, where fair, credit or refund the affected period.

4.3 If we withdraw a paid feature you subscribe to, Terms §12.2 applies: 30 days' notice, and a refund of any amount covering the period after withdrawal.

5. How refunds are paid

5.1 Refunds go to the original payment method, normally within 5–10 business days of approval.

5.2 Paddle acts as merchant of record for your purchase, so refunds are issued through Paddle. The outcome is the same, and this policy still describes what you can expect from us.

5.3 Refunding a plugin payment ends that plugin subscription. If it was your only paid plugin, membership is no longer included — your account moves to limited access unless you choose a plan (Terms §8). Membership does not start automatically.

6. Chargebacks

If you dispute a charge with your bank without contacting us first, the payment provider's process applies and your account may be limited while it runs. Please give us the chance to fix it — we are one email away and our refund policy is deliberately generous.

7. Contact

hello@buckstrail.com — include the email address on your BucksTrail account. We aim to respond within 2 business days.
