In plain English: We use a handful of cookies to keep you signed in and the site secure. Those are essential and always on. Anything optional — like analytics — asks for your consent first, and "no" is a one-click answer we remember.
1. What cookies are
Small text files (or similar technologies such as localStorage) stored on your device. UK rules (PECR) let us use strictly necessary ones without consent; everything else needs your opt-in.
2. Cookies we use
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Strictly necessary cookies are always on. The banner also offers an analytics category, off unless you consent; no analytics cookies are currently set. Any introduced later will be listed in this table and set only with consent — as would any other category if we ever offered one.

3. Your choices
3.1 The consent banner appears on your first visit. Essential cookies run regardless (the site cannot work without them); everything else is off until you say yes. "Reject non-essential" is as prominent as "Accept".
3.2 Change your mind anytime: Settings → Privacy → Cookie preferences re-opens the banner.
3.3 You can also clear or block cookies in your browser; blocking essential ones will break sign-in.
4. Changes
Material changes will be reflected here and re-prompted via the banner where consent is affected.
